A Descriptive Map of the Region Within One Hundred Miles of the Capital of the United States Portraying the Principal Events and Places of Major Interest in the Nation's Political, Cultural and Religious History Commemorating the Two Hundredth Anniversary

Beautiful color-printed vintage pictorial map of "the region within one hundred miles of the capital of the United States", showing Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.

The title cartouche illustrates Washington Cathedral, the publisher of the map, as well as various seals and coats of arms. Scattered vignettes, text boxes, and illustrations within the map touch on important parts of the nation's history that took place in the region.

The map was also published in black and white, to be hand-colored by Clegg himself, in an edition of 200 (see Rumsey 8241).
