Planisphere Urano-Geographique c'estadire Les Spheres Celeste et Terrestre misses en Plan . . .

Rare map of the World in two hemispheres, printed from two plates on one sheet, published by Pierre Moullart Sanson.

The map was issued separately and in a rare atlas Introduction à la géographie en plusieurs cartes avec leur explication, published in Paris in 1705 and 1707.

Pierre Moullard-Sanson (? - 1730) composed several hemispheres from unusual perspectives in the late 17th and early 18th century. He was the grandson of Nicolas Sanson and the uncle of Gilles Robert de Vaugondy. After Pierre Moullart inherited the copper plates, map collection and library from his grandfather in 1692 he added the Sanson suffix to his name.
